Such a good day, our youngest had a snowboarding accident Christmas eve, and received wonderful news today. This second CT scan showed that the damage is not as severe as the MRI had shown. Yippee, for him!! This means that the recovery will not be as long as originally thought. The Lord IS good, guess that should be with a capital G!

So to celebrate I thought I would post a painting that I have been working on a few days. This is my niece's cat. I just put my phone down to her level and began snapping photos. Curiosity got the best of her, and this up close and personal shot was the result!

Painter's Block

Bath Time
about 20lbs.

Goodness gracious! Attempt to paint after 2 weeks of not painting at all and it is like never ever painting! My attempts today at a pastel study were woefully sad. I had intended to paint yesterday but my new job threw a wrench in that idea. So I got up early and finished my work and hit the pastels. Ugh!

But the good news is, today is over and I get to paint everyday next week. WooHoo!!

So since I have no painting to show, thought you might like seeing a visitor who frequents our backyard. He/she likes to bathe in the tubs of water we put out for the deer.

This painting was really a serendipitous affair. To be snapping pictures from a great distance and this is the only picture of this little guy with such an awesome pose, divine intervention comes to mind. It was a lesson in minimal strokes to convey the subject and realizing shadows in reality are not as dark as they show in photos. AND just how often does a little one carry Woody around----I love it!

Hope no one was offended that I called this little one a 'critter' in the previous post. When I was pregnant with my first child, my mother had all sorts of presents under the Christmas tree to  "The Little Critter".  I sure missed that when I was pregnant with my youngest.
