So every once in awhile I have the wonderful problem of needing to replace empty spots in the the Gallerie at Gruene. A collector decided that she needed several of my paintings to decorate her home. This gave me the wonderful excuse to create a trilogy of the lovely hummingbirds that visit us all summer long.

Sadly, our Guadalupe River is very low and you are able to just walk down it in many places. On the upside, it lends itself to reflections not usually available.

Always look forward to the arrival of these little birds, painted buntings. They don't visit very long and are very skittish, plus very picky about the diet they enjoy. I had one fly into the window and had the opportunity to hold him to keep him going.....he happily flew off and has returned to feed. Thank you for VR for giving this little bird a home!!

Texas is known for its beautiful bluebonnets, the state flower. To see fields full of them is always a thrill each spring.

Yes, the oldest dancehall in Texas is a bit of a legend. So many country greats have played there over the years. Hopefully, it will go on for years to come. This was a fun one to create, took some artistic license with it.

This is the fourth in the series of rearview mirror paintings. Once again it is occurring in the Texas panhandle where there are plenty of wide open spaces! I just love how the reflection totally takes over the colors of the truck. There is not a bit of gold on that mirror, the evening sun just does that!
